I have had bags of topsoil before that seemed like it had come from a wasteland uncultivated for centuries. This stuff though has a good level of organic matter and I shall happily use it in containers as well as existing beds. Some lumps of clay but nothing to worry about.
The blended topsoil from Central Landscaping Supplies is the best I have used. It is rich and free from stones. They informed me about deliver times and left the large bag where it would not cause an obstruction. I'll certainly use them next time.
The first bag we got was great quality topsoil and compost mix. The second bag was still good quality but had quite a few small stones in it and some turf.
Looks like the sifter had gone wrong
